Anywhere USA.......NOT!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! I took these photos while on my walk this morning. This little lake is the focal, point so-to-speak, of the little community we live in. It's very peaceful and serene and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. Our 10th anniversary of the day we moved in is coming up in less than 2 weeks. I'm as happy here today as I was back then. I hope you all have some fun things planned for this weekend. We sure do and one of those things includes spending time with Linkoln, my youngest grandson, on Sunday, while his mom and dad go have some fun together. The weather is supposed to be good and the temperature near 70. Anywhere even close to 70 would be just fine with me. Can't wait.

And I also need to mention, yesterday was my oldest son's 39th birthday. It's been a tough few months for him and his family and he deserves GOOD THINGS for his 39th year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBY!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

I have a brand new sheep necklace available soon on Etsy. A few people have asked me if I would be making more so now is your chance.....

Pike Place Market

Norm and I spent some time at Pike Place Market in Seattle and it was a perfect day for it. Although it was a bit chilly to begin with the sun was shining and it warmed up nicely. The market was bustling with people as usual. We walked around and sampled the food here and there, bought fresh flowers, and drank coffee. I love to just park myself and watch the people. People from all over the world, from all walks of life... street vendors and musicians, jugglers, and even a man with a cat so accustomed to being on the same street corner, all day every day, that the hoards of people walking by, (some even reaching down to pet or scratch his ears), doesn't even flinch.
We had lunch at a restaurant in the market called Lowell's. In order to get a table for lunch though you have to show up while it's still breakfast time and sit and wait for them to start cooking lunch. The wait was pleasant though, because the view of the waterfront was magnificent. Our seafood lunch of fish and chips and a shared crabcake roll was yummy and made the day close to perfect. Not even the extra heavy Seattle traffic on the drive home could dampen our sprits.
The rest of the weekend will be spent cleaning and preparing for the gallery-hosted studio tour, next week. I really should do something about all the cobwebs that I do my best to ignore every day..........

Baby, it's COLD outside!!!

I've been working on my table display for upcoming shows this week in addition to some new jewelry pieces. As you can see by the photos above my table will be very COLORFUL! Color draws attention and I intend to get some attention. I have lots of bright, colorful ribbon to tie here and there and maybe I'll have a new banner made.
The little cupcakes above are made from Sculpy polymer clay. They were baked and then painted, (yes, by me ;-), with acrylics. It is my intention to make a bunch but they're pretty time consuming so I don't know how many I'll have time for. I found a tutorial for these on Maria Grime's blog. Maria is a fellow beadmaker. A very talented lady to say the least!

I have to tell you, I am so tired of the wind. It has blown like crazy all week. Finally have a bit of calm today. Just a slight breeze along with the SUNSHINE!!! Even though the temperature is barely 45 degrees. It was 39 degrees when I went for my early morning walk. Wow! It was much warmer here in January......

Hubby and I are headed down to Seattle tomorrow to spend the day. Seattle Center and Pikes Place Market. My sweetie is actually giving up a day of golf with his buddies to spend with me. I feel honored..............(insert roll;eyes icon here.) He really is a pretty good guy...:-)
